Lecture of the day

The Temple of the Supreme divine couple Sri Sri Radha Govinda is already completely built up. Now we have already started to make a place where the guests can stay if they come to take Their darshan and also for those who want to even live close to Them. Gäste- und Frauen-Ashram Projekt

Although our financial situation and available manpower are not enough to cover all expenses, we believe that by the mercy of Gurudev, Vaisnavas and the Supreme Lord many sincere souls will be inspired to be part of this project.

Why Should We Contribute?
Every spiritual path has an avenue of participation, an opportunity to give back to the universe for a better future (through tithing, dasvandh and so on).
While this is traditionally one-tenth of one’s income, many people give whatever they could. It is a spiritual practice through which one builds trust in the ability of the universe to respond to the energy that one take.
Our scriptures not only tell us what we must do, but they also tell us what we will reap from our actions. The act of giving to such a noble cause is not something that depletes our resou rces, in fact it causes them to increase.

Excerpts from from Srimad Bhagavad Gita
Donation for the construction of this particular type of temple qualifies as ‘satvik daan’ or noble charity. It is considered the highest form of charity as it is selflessly done.

यज्ञदानतपःकर ्म न त्याज् यं कार्यम वे तत ।्

यज्ञो दान ं तपश्वचै पावनानि मनीषिणाम ॥्

[Lord Sri Krishna said to Arjuna:] “The practice or acts of (Vedic) sacrifice, charity and austerity is not to be relinquished, but should surely be performed. (Vedic) Sacrifice, charity and austerity purify even the great souls.”

— Srimad Bhagavad Gita, 18.5

Excerpts from Srimad Bhagavatam

पजू ादीना ं प्रवाहार् थं महापर्वस्वथान्वहम ।्

क्त्षे रापणपरु ग्राम ान्दत्त्वा मात्सार् ष्तटि ामि यात ॥्

“One who offers the Deity gifts of lands, shops, towns and villages, so that the regular worship and special festivals may continue, will achieve opulence equal to my own.”
If one donates land, marketplace or other assets and constructs residences for pilgrims, so that with the income the worship of the deity can be maintained he will achieve opulence that is as good as that of the Supreme Lord. (Commentary by Srila Prabhupada Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati)

प्रति ष्ठया सार्वभौमं सद्मना भवु नत्रयम ।्

पजू ादि ना ब्रह्मलोकं त्रिभि रत््म साम्यतामि यात ॥्

“By installing the Deity of the Lord, one becomes the ruler of the entire earth. By constructing a temple for the Lord, one becomes the ruler the three worlds (i.e. the whole universe). By worshiping and serving the Deity, one attains residence in Brahmaloka and by performing all three, one achieves a transcendental form like My own.”

— Srimad Bhagavatam, 11.27.50–52
